Words With Heart  is an eco-friendly stationery and printery social enterprise that funds women’s and girls’ education projects

Words with Heart, the stationary brainchild of Lauren Shuttleworth, came about during her voyage home from a volunteering trip to Kenya. She stumbled upon a notebook, the cover of which read read; “let’s get back to boys, heels and blogs”. Rightly unimpressed and slightly frustrated with  the apparent “blanket of negativity” that covers the world, Lauren thought she could do better. Words with Heart, the empowering stationary company with a social conscience, was born.

They specialise in stationary and printable collections that carry meaning. Each of their products in the range of notebook and journals have a motivational and empowering quote on the front. One of our favourites here is “write your own story”; reflecting the ethos of the company. In addition to this, customers can design their own covers that reflect them and the values that they hold dear. Personalised, professional business cards are also available

While providing these beautiful notebooks, Words with Hearts mission to empower women never falters. Their support of charities, including One Girl, is a testament to their dedication to empower  female education. While women in Australia are incredibly lucky in terms of their education rate, women in other countries aren’t as lucky .This lack of education can have over a $1 billion dollar impact in some of the world’s poorest countries. Over 2/3 of women are uneducated around the world, and this is area is one in which Words with Heart hopes to make a difference. The ultimate goal is to raise enough  money for 500,000 days’ worth of girl’s education, by the end of the 2016.

So, if you want to both make a difference and have a sleek little journal to share your adventurous life with, look no further than Words with Heart!
